History
Whilst counties were established around Up to date York State around 1683, the present Schenectady County was involved around Albany County. Albany County was reduced around size within 1786 by the splitting off of Columbia County; agaaround in 1791 by the splitting off of Rensselaer and Saratoga Counties and the transport of the Town of Cambridge to Washington County. It was farther reduced inside size around 1795 by the splitting off of the the part that was combined by having a portion of Otsego County to create Schoharie County. It was farther reduced withwithin size in 1800 by the splitting off of the the part that was combined by having a portion of Ulster County to create Greene County.
